Revisiting Landscapes, Hayle (2020 - Present)
‘Revisiting Landscapes, Hayle’ explores Edwards’ engagement with costal environments in Cornwall, focusing on the effects of erosion and the ongoing relationship between human presence and natural processes.
Using found material, Edwards constructs minimal linear interventions that take and respond to the landscape, drawing attention to the imprint of human activity. Through repeated visits, the work observes how the terrain shifts over time - revealing subtle changes in light, form, and atmosphere.
Photography functions as both record and evidence within this process, capturing these transient moments and preserving traces of interventions that no longer remain. The work considers how landscapes are continually re-formed, holding layered histories that evolve through time and repeated encounters.
In order of (1-7); ‘Three Meandering Lines’, ‘Line with White Cloud’, ‘Cloud, Dune, Shingle, Broken-Lines’, ‘Remnants’, ‘At Rest’, ‘Six Days’ and ‘Traces’.
